Analysis vs trading
Two independent switches under Settings → Integrations → Claude connector. The master Claude connector toggle must be on for either to work.
| Switch | Claude can | Claude cannot |
|---|---|---|
| Allow analysis | Positions, P&L, funds, ledger, trade history, strategies list, signals, market data, portfolio reads | Place or cancel orders; pause/stop strategies; change portfolios that require writes |
| Allow trading | Everything analysis allows, plus place/cancel orders, pause/resume/stop strategies, create and run Claude-owned portfolios | Approve or cancel portfolio exit flows that are human-only in the UI |
Recommended defaults
- Day-to-day research: analysis on, trading off.
- Supervised trading chat: both on, and stay at the keyboard.
- Break glass: turn the master Claude connector off — tools refuse until you turn it back on.
What you will see in TradePod
- Live orders from Claude are tagged Claude (source
MCP) on the Orders page. - Model portfolios Claude creates are
created_by=claude. Claude can update/implement those; portfolios you created in the UI stay read-only via MCP.
Errors Claude may report
| Message (short) | Fix |
|---|---|
| Connector disabled | Turn Claude connector on |
| Analysis / READ_DISABLED | Turn Allow analysis on |
| Trading / WRITE_DISABLED | Turn Allow trading on and connect Dhan |
| HUMAN-ONLY | That action is UI-only (e.g. approve/cancel exit) |
